Oklahoma Senator is your typical Republican
Republican Senator Tom Coburn epitomizes what the Republican Party stands for in this country. He’s a goddamn phony hypocrite and by far one of the most divisive members of Congress!
At the opening of the confirmation hearings for John Roberts on Monday, Coburn became choked up and whimpered like baby when he said;
"A super-legislator body is not what the court was intended to be," Coburn said. "When I ponder our country and its greatness, its weakness, its potential, my heart aches for less divisiveness, less polarization, less finger-pointing, less bitterness, less mindless partisanship."
In reading his comments you obviously don't see the emotion he showed but as I said, he was whimpering like a baby. This man, Coburn, sounds like a compassionate man who has grown weary of all the divisiveness in government but he is the same man who has made the following public statements;
“I favor the death penalty for abortionists and other people who take life.”
“… The gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in every area across this country, and they wield extreme power. ... That agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today. Why do you think we see the rationalization for abortion and multiple sexual partners? That’s a gay agenda.”
And the ‘kicker’ to all this? Oklahoma Republican Senator Tom Coburn, an MD, sterilized a woman in 1990 without her consent. He admitted to sterilizing her without her 'written' permission and lied about having her ‘oral’ permission. He also admitted to performing 'lot’s' of these sterilizations, even on minors. His stated reason, ‘Reducing the rolls of welfare queens’
