‘PARED DOWN’? NO, PARED WAY UP!
You call this leadership?
Republicans Just Keep Stepping In it!
Asked if that meant the government was running at peak efficiency, Mr. DeLay said, "Yes, after 11 years of Republican majority we've pared it down pretty good."
Well, there’s the quote from the criminal, Tom ‘the bug man’ Delay, (I hope he likes how he looks in bright orange) about how wonderful republican leadership is. Now, I’ll give you the facts.
When Bill Clinton left office in 2001 federal spending was $1,863,000,000,000 (that’s 1.863 trillion for you republicans) and now, for FY05 which ends at the end of this month it will be $2,473,000,000,000 (2.473 trillion). That’s a 33% increase in four short years! What’s changed since that time? Fiscal conservative Democrat President Bill Clinton isn’t running the show anymore, that’s what!
We have a Republican Senate, a Republican House and a Republican president and spending has increased 33% in four years. That’s what phony conservatives (Republicans) consider ‘pared down’.
Of course no one should be surprised that Bush has sent federal spending skyrocketing; Reagan and Bush’s old man did the exact same thing. Bill Clinton on the other hand held federal spending to a mere 3.55% average annual increase over his entire 8 years in office. Oh, and did I mention that he had four HUGE consecutive budget surpluses?
Be careful to what and who you listen to and know your facts. Republicans don’t want you know the facts. They like the people to be ignorant; like their base.
